Rare Room
A temperature-controlled, glass vault commands center stage in The Wine Room on Park Avenue and with good reason. This "Rare Room" contains over 600 bottles of the most rare and celebrated wines anywhere in the country. Selected from the extensive collection of Bruce Simberg, owner of The Wine Room, the names include a veritable "who's who" of the classics like Ch. Mouton-Rothschild, Ch. Lafite-Rothschild and Ch. Latour. The Napa Valley cabernet sauvignons are well-represented in the glorious vintages of 1997, 1994, 1991 and 1987. Even young California cult wines like Hundred Acre, Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet and Turley Zinfandels. The DRC's La Tache and Richebourg share space with the magnificent Ornellaia and Gaja Sori Tilden of Italy.
